High school: Caringbah High School
HSC subjects: Advanced English, Mathematics Ext 1 & Ext 2, Chemistry, Biology, PDHPE
Currently studying: Bachelor of Science (Advanced) at UNSW (3rd year) with a major in Chemistry and a minor in Mathematics

Advice: Working hard is what will get you results, but don’t forget that managing your stress is just as important. Keeping a good sleeping pattern will make the load feel a lot lighter.
What was your favourite subject in high school?
I loved maths and the sciences in high school and I still do. I get told quite often that my conversations with people almost always lead to them getting a lecture about some scientific theory or process.
If you could time travel, would you go into the future or the past?
Definitely into the future. I would be most excited to learn about the advances in technology and to see how much more we have understood about our world around us. I kinda want wormholes.
Describe yourself in 3 words.
What is one thing you can’t live without?
Food. I eat too much of it. My wallet suffers pay day.
What is one talent you wish you had?
Playing an instrument. I have no musical talent whatsoever.
Why do you like teaching?
It may sound very cliché to say that “I like teaching because it is extremely rewarding” but it is true. A lot of the time students pick things up very quickly, maybe even on the first time they see it. As a teacher, that makes my life very easy, but the struggle comes when students don’t understand a concept even after being taught it multiple times. We all as humans have a preconceived standing point when it comes to problems in life, and when things don’t fit into our way of perception we have trouble understanding how or why things are the way they are. The hardest but most rewarding part of teaching is helping these students overcome these barriers by finding the explanations that let them see the problem from another perspective. Sometimes it involves coming up with these wacky, weirdly abstract, far in the out-field type explanations, but that is the most enjoyable part.
Behind the scenes at EIM, we have an incredible team of people who strive to help you do the best you can. This blog series helps you get to know all the people who contribute to the amazing learning experience for every student who walks through our doors. Stay tuned to meet the rest of the team!
